Cinnamon Baked Apples

Something about baking up a batch of cinnamon baked apples on a chilly day that just makes everything right. I have been whipping these simple treats up since my oldest was a toddler back before our Army days. When we lived on post I would whip them up on cool days and let the smell of apples and cinnamon take over the house. I missed them when we lived in Florida and the weather was much too hot for warm baked treats. Not that we minded making Sweet southern peach apple butter in the crockpot.

I decided to take some time to teach my oldest how to make this treat to serve with some ice cream when we found some apples on sale. We do love our apple treats like apple pie oatmeal and easy caramel apple cheesecake.

  • Green apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Mix cinnamon and sugar in a bowl.

Preheat the over to 350 degrees

Slice apples. You can chop these up into small chunks as well. You can choose to peel the apples but we are a bit on the lazy side and just go with them peel and all.

Dip apples into the cinnamon sugar mix and bake until soft (About 15 minutes)
