Easy Clean Play Mud Dough for Sensory Play

roves. We love fun sensory play. The lack of sensory inspiring play is a big cause for the rise in sensory disorders. Sensory play is also amazing for my oldest with ADHD when she joins the little ones in sensory play she can focus better on school work after.

Even her reading greatly improves. This month with Mother Goose Time we are doing On the Farm. they sent this great mud dough recipe that the kids just loved and we will be keeping on hand.

Make your own easy to clean up play mud dough

I really love fun DIYs that are easy to clean up. When using a big box of pudding mix this is just the right texture and cleans up well. If using a small box simply reduce the amount of water going into the recipe to clean up easy. In the photo you can see the original recipe but I am listing the changes we made.

What you need for mud dough

• 1-2 oz box of chocolate pudding
• 1 cup baking soda
• 1/4 cup water
• 3 tablespoons oil of choice

To make this fun easy to clean play mud simply mix baking soda and pudding powder together. Then add in il and water mixing until a dough like consistency.  Store in an airtight container. Add water as it dries out. Should last about a week.

Time to play with this sensory mud dough

Have each child feel the dough. Ask them what they feel? Guide them to use more descriptive words like cold, gooey, and soft.

Make mud pies, build a mud sensory bin, Or just set the kids loose. This was perfect for our farm theme and so much fun the kids just love it.
