One of our favorite parts of Mother Goose Time is the Make and Plays. We really love how they combine art and play into a well-rounded learning experience. The new theme for June is Bugs and Crawly Things and I may have skipped ahead and grabbed out this spider when I needed something easy for the kids to do so I could rest. This Make and Play Spider Web is just perfect for kids of all ages to enjoy.
This make and play spider web is so easy
You don’t need much just a few easy to find items.
- Cardboard circle with notches cut into it. (Recycle those cereal boxes!)
- Toy spider
Have your child wrap the yarn around the circle uses the notches to hold it in place. Add your toy spider and you are ready to play.
Time to play with your spider web
Gather other toy bugs for your spider to eat.
Hide your toy spider around the room and challenge your child to find it (my kids may have done this one on their own)
Take yarn and weave between trees to create a life-size spider web to play.
