One thing that has always been important to me is teaching children about diversity and acceptance. I was lucky to grow up in a very diverse area for my later childhood years. Our kids have been in different areas culturally but never an area where they experience a large verity at once. I am a firm believer in the wonderful teachings of Martin Luther King Jr and proud to teach my children about how he led the way to us all having the opportunities we have now.

As the children age we are beginning to talk more about the tough subjects. Before diving into the truly ugly history we are taking some time to focus on the wonderful things that change the world for the better.
