Workbooks for Preschool?

With my oldest when we started homeschooling preschool I attempted to recreate what I knew at home. While she excelled in the speed she was learning we where not 100% happy. The best part of our day was our morning crafts I would set up the night before. The workbooks droned on day after day taking up hour after hour. She was learning but neither us us where happy. Then we fund Mother Goose Time.

With Mother Goose Time preschool was more fun for my son and it spilled into life giving us more fun all around even for my oldest. To get some workbook stuff in because it really does have value we used the More Math and More Literacy books from Mother Goose Time. He loved them and as he is transitioning to primary school he already gets the concept of book work making the transition easier.

This year my middle two girls will be using More Math and More Literacy in preschool. We enjoy these because:

  • They are developmentally appropriate.
  • Can be adjusted to each child’s needs.
  • Fun and colorful
  • Blended with the monthly themes.

More Math allows us to dive deeper into the math concepts covered in the main curriculum. With the girls being so advanced from using Mother Goose Time we decided to advance them using these workbooks.

More Literacy is great because we love putting a literacy focus on the children’s education. We love how this workbook makes basic literally skills like building sentences.
