Encourage Young Readers by Creating a Cozy Reading Space

When this lounger from Brentwood Home arrived I knew it would make the coziest little reading nook for the kids. Creating a cozy space your child wants to lay back and relax is a great way to encourage young readers.

Build your own Cozy Reading Space

There’s something amazing about finding a cozy spot out of the way of playing siblings and distracting TVs that makes falling into the pages of a good book just well Magical.  There are a few things every cozy reading space needs.

A comfy place to sit

We have the Venice Lounger from Brentwood Home. We have had it for a few days now and the kids have put it through the ringer. It makes a great longer and even a crash pad. The Lounger is filled with memory foam used in mattresses and you sink right into it.  I have found toddlers napping in the reading spot with a Dr. Seuss book on their lap a few times.

The Venice Lounger is truly a dream for both the kids and me. The outside of the lounger is 100% machine washable. As a mom of 4 kids washable is best for well everything. I love that this lounger has a lock on the zipper to keep kids from unstuffing it when I am not looking.

When we fell pray to a cold it became a favorite pillow because all of the children could sit on my King size bed and lay back on it like a pillow. We learned it can really fluff up with a little beating.

Lounger

Comfy pillows

Along with the Lounger Brentwood Home sent us a Lilypad Kids Pillow an all-natural latex & kapok pillow that is just right for little ones.  Brentwood Home offers a large verity of pillows for all ages and needs.

Plenty of books ready to grab

Grab a basket and fill it with books to always have something to read close to your cozy reading space. You can rotate these books regularly to keep things fresh.

We are in the process of replacing our furniture in the living room with pillows for the kids to relax in and to allow room for more movement. These would work perfect to accomplish this goal.

This looks like a super inviting space! I recently bought a beanbag chair at Walmart and promptly returned it, it was like sitting on a box of rocks but this sounds like it is made amazingly well made and comfy. I would love to win it for my readaholic son!

So much better for the spine than hunched over a desk or laying on hard floor. My kids agree.

Oh this is a wonderful idea for my 8 yr old daughter who loves to read her stack of library books after homework. She usually reads up on her bunk bed or sometimes in a fort under the kitchen table. I’d love to give this to her.

This looks so comfy, I love the idea of creating a quiet spot. Sometimes it’s hard to get our daughter to read just because there is so much else going on in the house. Thanks for the giveaway.
