Smurfs The Lost Village: The Smurfs will Never be the Same Again

Everyone has been SMURF crazy the past couple weeks and it’s just going to get crazier as Smurfs the Lost Village Sweeps into theaters April 7th. This is a total girl power movie that every girl should see. It held my son’s interest for a good while but it was really a big one for my daughter. Despite watching the trailer I was totally caught off guard about the entire new village being girls! Oh, now we have so many questions I am not even sure where to start.

Smurfs the Lost Village

About Smurfs The Lost Village

We were lucky enough to get in on a prescreening today with the kids and see it for ourselves. Smurfette sets out on a big adventure with her friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty through the Forbidden Forest in hopes of finding lost village before the evil wizard Gargamel does. Smurfette discovers along her journey just who she is and what she is here for. Watching her wrestle with the pain of being different and feeling unworthy brought several viewers to tears.

Children find themselves engrossed in this story of love, courage, and self-discovery. The Smurfs dives deep into emotional growth and tugs at heart strings as Smurfette struggles to see who she is and that she can rise above where she came from. A lesson many of us had to learn growing up. No mater what deity you follow the lesson on faith and personal responsibility in this movie hits home.

Now the movie is over I just Know I need to see what is coming up ahead. It is safe to say they left plenty of room to bring in another movie in the future. I am sure more adventures are to come. No mater what deity you follow the lesson on faith and personal responsibility in this movie hits home.

More Smurfs movie fun

I received this great SMURF discussion guide from Sony last night that gave me a base to talk about the movie with the kids on the ride home. I was a bit floored to discover the faith-based lessons behind the movie in a world where people don’t want to bring faith into things anymore. Refreshing in an age of political correctness.
