Building A Healthy Morning Routine

Despite how strange that sounds, it is once again morning time! Just now, that lovely alarm clock has gently – or perhaps not so gently – awoken you from your comfortable slumber, and it’s time to get going on your day.

Try out a few, if not all, of these healthy ways to start the day before you settle into your regular morning routine. This way, you can make the most of the time you have before you leave, and you’ll be more likely to maintain healthy living habits for the rest of the day.

Here are 6 things to add to your morning routine to help you start your day off on the right foot.

Meditation.

Taking 15 to 30 minutes to meditate in the morning sets the tone for the whole day. This will help you become more focused, content, and upbeat. Often, your mind jumps from one notion to another without much notice. This is known as the “monkey mind” in Buddhism.

Mediation provides the ability to break free from regular thought patterns, especially negative ones. Your state of being can change from one of being reactive to one of caring and proactive. Prepare for the day ahead by spending at least 10 minutes each morning preparing.

Get a large glass of water to drink.

When you get out of bed, sip a large glass of water. Keep in mind that your body has not consumed any food or water since eight to twelve hours ago. As a result, it is dehydrated.

Take a fibre supplement that aids your digestive system if you want to take this practice to the next level. You can add one spoonful to a glass of water and not only lower your cholesterol, but the added fiber will also make you feel fuller, making you less likely to overindulge at breakfast.

If that’s not for you, then add lemon to your water or apple cider vinegar to give your digestion a healthy boost. You can also incorporate a probiotic supplement. Aside from being good for digestion, probiotics for women can help in the overall health of your gut and digestive system.

Eat A Healthy Breakfast.

As you probably already know, breakfast is breaking the fast and should be done wisely and well. Often considered the most important meal of the day and should never be neglected.

In order to properly fuel your engine, you should remember that your body has been without food or drink for the last few hours. Breakfast should be as healthy as possible. Fast food from a drive-through is usually out, plus many of those breakfast items are over 1,000 calories.

A single meal would require so much food. You should focus on building a healthy meal. The refrigerator, kitchen, and pantry should always be stocked with healthy foods so you can prepare something nutritious at home quickly.

Fruits, seeds, nuts, porridge oats, scrambled tofu, avocado on toast, fruit jams, theres so much to choose from. Don’t forget to take probiotics and digestive enzymes before you eat if you have been struggling with feeling bloated or having wind or any discomfort.

Write A To-Do List / Journal

While you are eating your breakfast, jot a few things down on paper that you would like to accomplish today. Adding “To-Do” goals to this list will help you accomplish any immediate goals that are on your mind. If you wish to lose weight, your goals may be related to your job, home, children, or family.

To-Do lists help you focus on specific tasks, increasing your chances of completing them and, subsequently, being more productive.

As well, it is a good time to journal and write down your thoughts and feelings in a separate book without judgment, just so you can get things out and on paper. Research shows this can be very healing and cathartic.

We start out each morning with a planner sheet where we mark down schedules we need to remember, to-do lists, and meal planning along with other notes. I call this our family productivity plan and I have no idea how I managed to handle everything before it.

Stretch, Dry body brush and Shower

Take a short walk, do some light stretching, or do some yoga to open up your body and let the energy flow through it. Following your shower, get in the tub. Use a soft dry brush to exfoliate your skin and move lymph before showering.

Brush firmly towards your heart, then take a warm shower followed by a cool shower. This exercise gets the circulation and lymphatic system moving and tones the skin at the same time.

Set a high standard for yourself.

Don’t let anything hold you back from achieving greatness. In your early waking moments, before sight, sound, and smell can affect you, you can do anything. Then your “world” starts pouring in, and you begin to fall into routines and patterns.

Morning routines are beneficial, but they aren’t enough by themselves. Holding yourself responsible for your success and happiness would be helpful. You can keep a gratitude journal and write down what you’re thankful for as well as what you hope to accomplish that day, week, month, or year.

Working your way up from a small project is the best way to begin. You’ll learn how to focus your mind on what matters most to you, and you’ll start to see how your vision of success comes to life. As you go about your day, it will train your eyes to see the wonderful things that surround you.

You’ll begin to rewire your mindset to be more positive, and you’ll start assisting others to do the same. As a result, your stress levels will be reduced, resulting in better health and wellbeing.

Having great morning habits will make you feel happy and energized to strive for success. Throughout your life, you will encounter various types of change. Once you become who you want to be, the life you want to live will come to you.
