Frank’s RedHot Barbecue Sauce

It is finally warming up enough to dive into the grilling season. It feels kind of weird with the meat shortages hitting but it is still nice to have some fun here and there.

Grilling out allows me to make a few meals worth of meat in one go and stash for easy meals when I am just plain tired. This time I make a barbecue sauce with a kick by adding a good bit of Frank’s Red Hot sauce.

Here in Detroit Frank’s RedHot sauce is a staple. We even have a restraint here that makes Jelly beans from it. And yes we tried it after the special on The Food Network years ago. It is awesome. When my son and I were mixing up our family’s favorite sweet zesty garlic barbecue sauce we decided to make a new one with a kick and made this Frank’s RedHot Barbecue Sauce.

Homemade Frank’s RedHot Barbecue Sauce

What you need:

:: 1 cup red wine vinegar

:: 1/2 cup tomato juice

:: 6 tablespoons tomato paste

:: 4 tablespoons brown sugar

:: 1 tablespoon minced onion

:: 1 tablespoon minced garlic

:: 1/2 tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning

:: 1/2 tablespoon smoked paprika

:: 1 teaspoon salt

:: 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

:: 1/4 cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce

Make your own Frank’s RedHot Barbecue Sauce.

This barbecue sauce takes some cooking but is worth it if you want a great homemade sauce with a kick.

In a medium saucepan mix ingredients over low heat. Bring to a simmer string constantly until blended and thickened. This will take 8-10 minutes. If you want a thicker sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes allowing some of the liquid to cookout leaving behind the intense flavor.

This barbecue sauce with Frank’s RedHot would make some amazing wings though personally for some spicy wings I would add more Frank’s RedHot but, I love spice.

I love an easy homemade barbecue sauce recipe packed with flavor so we have been trying some Amazing Barbecue Sauce Recipes lately and are really enjoying trying fun new flavors.
