Get Your Kiddos Ready For School With These 4 Great Tips!
Your kids are finally getting ready to start school! How exciting! Hopefully, you’ve been preparing for this day for a long time. But if not, no problem. We’re here to help!
Here are some great tips to get your little ones ready for their first year of school and their entire educational careers:
Find out who their friends are early
Roughly 87% of private schools have fewer than 300 students. That means your children will likely be friends with their buddies for a long time once those friendships start forming. In order to make the most out of these relationships, find out who their friends are and get in contact with their parents. Then you can plan out of school activities and their friendship can blossom into something truly special.
Every kid needs a strong support system to make it through 12 years of schooling. Families are crucial, sure, but they are going to need a small group of best friends to help relieve stress and grow together. Don’t let them miss out on lifelong friendships because you were lazy early on. Find out who their friends are and help them become best friends!
Get their digital devices set up early
Nowadays — especially since many kids will be learning remotely due to COVID-19 — so much of learning takes place online. Whether it’s online classes later on in their educational careers or digital learning activities on an iPad, technology plays a crucial role in education.
Make sure you are careful about what sites your children have access to, as well. Additionally, beware of hackers and virus popups in the form of advertisements. Roughly 87% of people say there are more ads than two years ago.
Put an end to all your bad habits
Parenting is hard, yes. Life is hard, sure. But that doesn’t mean you should let your anxieties and worries control you as you slip into a world of bad habits. Since you’re a parent, you are going to have so many more responsibilities as your child ages and you have to be there for him or her. So it’s time to quit all those unhealthy and bad habits that might’ve been forming over the last few years.
Maybe it’s just playing video games too much or junk food. Or maybe it’s something much more serious. After all, about 2 million Americans misuse prescription pain drugs. Whatever your vice is or bad habit, your kids are watching — so stop!
Get plenty of school supplies
If your little ones are heading to school in the next few weeks, there is still time to get to the store — or multiple stores — and stock up on all those essential school supplies. Start by going to the big department stores like Target and Walmart to get books, binders, pens, pencils, crayons, glue sticks, etc. But don’t stop there! There should be plenty of small hobby stores nearby where you’ll be able to find great deals on all kinds of cool school supplies.
Also, it’s imperative that you get plenty of educational items just in case. A box of crayons can last anywhere from a day or two to over a year! Get at least double of each item and make sure you label everything!
Hopefully your kids are just as excited about starting their schooling as you are about getting them out of the house for a few hours each day! But if not, that’s okay, too. This is a major step in everyone’s life and it can be quite daunting for little ones. All they know is you and their home, so leaving to go to a big school for most of the day is a major change in their lives. But it will be okay! Make sure you and your kids are as prepared as possible and just be open to talking about everything with them!
This is a big step but it’s going to be great! Good luck!
