In less than two months, we will be in a new year! Holy cow. I cannot believe it! But, I’m ready to welcome 2023 with open arms. The idea of a fresh start and blank slate always sounds so refreshing at the end of a year and I’m ready for it.

I believe that to start a new year off the best that you can, you have to be intentional with it. Here are a few tips for making 2023 a great year:

Set yourself up for success

Like I said, I believe that you have to be intentional with it. To make 2023 a great year, you have to set yourself up for success. If you want to achieve goals, set them and then create a pathway to reach those goals, without stress.

For example, if you have a goal to lose 30 pounds of fat or gain 20 pounds of muscle, it doesn’t just happen by saying “I’m going to do this!” You have to create a game plan. Set small goals along the way so that you can reach your large goal, and give yourself incentives for each small and large goal that you meet.

Another way to set yourself up for success is by surrounding yourself around people who will do this alongside you and cheer you on along the way, too!

You don’t need to do everything

In 2023, it’s time to realize that we do not need to do everything and then some. Take on only what you can do and what you want to do, and say no to the rest. You are not a bad person for doing this and for prioritizing yourself!

Think positively

It’s not ALL about setting goals or creating change for yourself. Maybe you are not in a position right now for change, or maybe you cannot immediately think of any goals to set for yourself right now.

That’s okay! If you are stuck where you are (no matter the reason — it might be a very positive reason!), all you have to do is make the best of it.

Think positive. Keep on keeping on. This year will be amazing for you, but you have to make it happen for yourself, both in your actions and even more importantly, you have to make it positive in your mind.

Our thoughts and feelings control SO much of how we feel, so make sure you are keeping a strong mindset.

Incorporate more time with family and friends

Something that you should do more of is spending time with friends and family members: the ones that raise you up. If you are going through a tough time, these people are the ones who will carry you through it.

It can be easy to hide under a blanket in bed or on the couch when you are really stressed out, but to begin to feel better, you absolutely need to surround yourself around the people who love you.
