I love sugar scrubs in the summer to keep my skin soft. I love the coffee sugar scrub I make but sometimes I am in a more summer mood and this pink lemonade sugar scrub is perfect for a hot summer day. Because it doesn’t use any essential oils this is perfectly safe to use in the shower before going out into the sun. The sugar and lemon juice work together to both preserve the DIY sugar scrub but also to break down and remove old dead skin cells.
I like to use fractioned coconut oil because it stays a nice liquid consistency and is highly moisturizing but you can really use any skin friendly oil of your choosing even olive oil right from the kitchen. I love to add a bit of cocoa butter to make the sugar scrub even better for the skin. Harsh summer sun can really do some damage making skin care important.
A lot of pink lemonade sugar scrub recipes out there use artificial food dyes to add the pink color. Instead of using food dyes we opted for using real fresh raspberries. This gives you a natural pink that is safe and healthy and will not leave behind any staining on your skin after your shower.
