October is here and we are MORE then ready for fall. You know the fall we won’t see for a while yet down here in the south. Never the less it is time to enjoy the season the best we can. This morning I pulled out the Montessori Nomenclature cards I painted for the kids and we did a pumpkin craft that will help decorate for our Mother Goose Time Pumpkin Patch Halloween Party. Not a bad morning if you ask me.
paper plate
orange paint
paintbrush
pumpkin seeds
green pipe cleaner
paper
scissors
glue
Make this cute paper plate pumpkin:
paint the plate orange
cut a leaf from the green paper
create a twisted vine from the pipe cleaner
glue the vine, leaves, and pumpkin
I painted the children a set of pumpkin nomoculture cards to add to our montessori collection for the preschool kids. Usually I just use printable one but I wanted a different look so these could be used as decoration for our Pumpkin Patch Party. Montessori Nomenclature cards are used for all of the kids. The babies learn the names of objects while the big kids benefit from reading and spelling skills.
I created a printable version along with a coloring sheet and a “seed to table” lifecycle printable. This pack is perfect for preschool and a great way to kick off October.

We are Blog ambassadors for Mother Goose Time Preschool curriculum. This year they are offering celebration packs in each month set. We love this months pack full of ideas and supplies to make for a wonderful day. Our family does not Trick – or – treat due to the food dyes found in most candies that affect our oldest. We have learned a party at home with safe candy is the best way to have fun. This year we are enjoying the pumpkin patch party and we can’t wait! The activities work motor skill and encourage learning while playing. Which as you all know we believe in Learning Through Play.
