Cast Iron Chicken Skillet Dinner

September 20, 2019

I love my cast iron and I do not regret making the switch for most of our pots and pans. Our largest skillet is perfect for making large batches of our favorite foods including everyday skillet meals like this and even giant pies that can feel our family and then some.

This cast iron chicken skillet dinner is so simple I can toss it together and let cook in the oven while we get other things done.

simple chicken skillet dinner

This simple chicken skillet dinner combines juicy chicken breast, oven-roasted potatoes, crisp green beans, with garlic, red onions, herbs, and plenty of real butter. In case you didn’t notice with the sinful sausage and potatoes dinner I love cooking with butter.

What you need:

:: 1 pound chicken breast

:: 4 cups chopped potatoes

:: 4 cups green beans

:: 1 med red onion

:: 1 bulb of fresh garlic

:: 1/4 pound (1 stick) butter

:: 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning

:: 1/2 teaspoon, powdered onion

:: 1/2 teaspoon powdered garlic

:: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

:: 1/2 teaspoon salt

Make this easy baked skillet dinner.

Sprinkle remaining spices over potatoes and green beans.

Slice red onion and garlic thinly.

Place garlic, onion, and slices of butter on top of the entire dish spaced randomly.
