I love my giant 12-inch cast-iron skillet and I can fit enough to feed our large family into one pan. This is particularly useful if you need to make your life a bit easier. Like adjusting to having a new baby, starting your own business or any number of life’s challenges.
Skillet dinners like my Cast-iron Skillet Fajitas make my life easier because let’s face it feeding a large family is not the easiest thing I have ever done.
While this recipe can feed a crew and is perfect for large families or get-togethers with friends you can easily halve it for the average-sized family. The advantage of cast iron is that you can cook this dish outside if you want to feed your family without heating your home on a hot summer day.
What you need:
- 2 packs smoked sausage
- 1 cup sliced bell peppers
- 1 med onion
- 6 large potatoes.
- 1.5 sticks unsalted butter

Make this sinful sausage and potatoes cast iron skillet dinner
Slice your onion and saute in butter while you dice up your potatoes into 1/2 inch pieces or smaller.
Add the rest of your butter, potatoes, spices, and peppers to your skillet and up until potatoes begin to become soft.
While the potatoes cook slice the smoked sausage and toss in when the potatoes are about halfway to tender.
Add the sausage and cook until the potatoes are tender and the sausage is fully cooked.
